No - but then you would be talking of a complete 3inch exhaust cause a 3inch dump pipe into a stock exhaust wont do shit...
has the noise level increased ?
its a bigger pipe, so yes, but then you can jam it up with mufflers.
Is it worth the money
yes

Agree with Bogged. I just had my 80 done at Ringwood Performance Exhaust, very happy with the outcome.

A 3"dump pipe followed by a section of 3"exhaust will be more beneficial then match this into your stock exhaust, however there are plenty of 'quiet' 3" systems around if noise is of concern and you want to go a full system.

Not really sure on fuel economy, seat of the pants mine feels like it could handle more fuel now as it tends to run out of puff at higher revs now, but this is also a by-product of the toyota turbo. You will probably find exhaust matched with a tune will see better fuel economy numbers accross the board, but we are then talking more expense than just a dump pipe for $300.

What sort of vehicle are you talking about? If its GU td42t patrol, its well worth it in power gains to start with and the future as well. It wont make any more noise if that is only replaced.

Ask Beretta. he was driving round in his GQ for a few days with a 3" dump pipe making up his whole exhaust system.

Could hear him coming that's for sure. :D

You wouldnt change a 2.5 for a 3inch if your trying ot save money, or economy... the $700-1000 you would spend, you would blow, cause not many would wanna give you much for a 2.5 system..

If your getting it for $800 thats a pretty fair price IMHO. Bout the only way you would get it cheaper would be getting press bent.

Remember the $600 system you see on ebay, you then have to install, factor in what you earn an hour, plus say 50% the shop would use in overheads and add that onto the price and see how it compares dollar for dollar wise.

Id be getting quotes on everything, the exhaust alone isnt going to give you massive power gains, it will need to be tuned too. No Point spending $800 on Exhaust + $800 separately on a tune when you might get the lot for less.

3" dump pipe AND exhaust will improve performance, but will make bugger all difference to economy (just like the hiclone). There is no way you could justify the cost on the grounds of improved economy (just like the hiclone).
