Exhaust for 105 series 4.5 petrol??

Post by Hilux_surfer »

Hey guys i just got a 105 series cruiser on the weekend and am very happy with it but the exhaust is pretty rusted out (was told running it on gas does that).
But i am looking at putting a new exhaust on there and want to get so i get the most out of it, is there anything you guys would suggest? I know some extractors but is there certain types of extractors to get like brands or anything? or they all much of a much? And for the rest of it just a 2.5 inch or 3 inch with just one muffler? Any help would be awesome guys

cheers

You wont notice the difference between good extractors and cheap ones and just go with a 2 1/2" system with a sports muffler and a resinator it'll be to loud and raspy without it. This is all i have on my 80.

Hey Mate,
I dont have a cruiser yet (had about 6 hiluxs), just about to purchase a 105 series petrol. I priced up at the local muffler shop (Mt Isa, 900km from nowhere) an a full press bent system with extractors was $1200 fitted. I called beaudesert exhaust and extractors an full mandrel system was $1200 plus a little freight. I stand to be corrected but I've never heard a bad thing yet about the beaudesert systems. Food for thought but thats probably the way I'll go.

I just ordered a DTS kit for my diesel 105 and have herd many good things about beaudesert exhausts so I also ordered a 3" full mandrel system of them. I can fick ya photos once its on to give you an idea how they look, wont be till next weekend when I get a chance to pick them up and fit them.

I have put a PACEMAKER tuned header and 21/2 system on mine and am very happy, Better economy, more low down torque. All good, select a good resonator and muffler as well as it can be a bit noisy without it. My 2002 model came factory without a CAT so added advantage with not having the expense there as well.
