eBay?? No guarantees on getting the end fittings right though.
If you find anyone online etc that does it, post it up as i'll be needing some soon and all of the local shops here are as dear as poison.

Looked on there but would be concerned with the quality of some of them. Saving maybe $100 for something that could shit itself and destroy the turbo is not worth IMHO.
Would prefer to use a remowned company.

Cost me around $115 for a braided oil feed for my turbo (including all fittings). Was over 1m long.
For the water pipes, I wouldn't bother getting braided, just silicone hoses.

Are you going to use flanged compression fittings or barbed fittings/hose/clamp type setup??
I've used flanged joins with steel feed lines for oil and just usual plumbing for water and oil drain in the past, but might spend the extra $$$ on the patrol.

We have speedflow products, not cheap, but are the best. Tell me what you need and I can let you know.

Pirtek (or was it enzed?) quoted me 'roughly' $80 for a braided oil feed line inc. fittings etc. - is that really too much to pay?

Can't remember exactly now.
But I think Autobarn are now selling braided heater pipe in stores in a packet.
if I'm correct the pipe is already braided and you need tin snip type cutters just to cut it to length.
comes in 1m, 3m, 5m lengths.
not really sure if you can use this pipe though

im doing the same thing at the moment i saw pirtek today and the said braided line was $45 a meter plus fittings which he said could be anywhere up to $15 each this is the cheapest place i have found

Speedflow fittings are a lock type fitup that can be undone when needed. They are not crimped in any way. I think from memory the oil line will be about 80-90 for the line and end fittings, the 90 and 45 degree fittings are a little dearer. They also do heat resitent water hose that needs no hose clamps on the fittings, but you wont get the hose of if you make a mistake.

Thanks everyone.
Appreciate the feed back. Will investigate all options.

Unless you specifically want the BLING then I would get stainless as the outer unless you can keep it well clear of everything. Oil return is fine, but water hoses would be a little overkill. Braided brake lines have also worn suspension arms in the past.
Get a cotton or rubber outer over the stainless, unless you want the bling.
The Earls, etc you buy the hose by the meter and the fittings bolt on. Also any hydraulic shop will be able to help you out, but they will only have steel fittings where Earls, etc can sometimes offer pretty coloured aluminum ones.

If you drive your 4B off road don't waste the money on Earls as it will all look like shit after a few drives. Dirt, dust, mud and with a bit of moisture your Bling Earls fittingd will look dull and discolour.
Also exposed stainles braid will trap dirt and grit and can cause chaffing of the inner. This may not be as big a problem with the lowwer preasures of engine oil but it does happen.

silly question - would going large on the oil like, is there a 'too big' diameter? eg 10mm flow trying to go into 5mm hole??

I worked out a line kit for sooty, but the cost of doing water lines in speedflow with high temp hoses is quite expensive. However there really aren't alot of other choices for reliability and quality.

Are you or sooty willing to share a rough price??
I'd be more than happy to have to pay a bit extra for a "kit" if it means it will save me time on the install. I cant afford to have my car off the road too long for the conversion.

on a car that sees alot of time boosting and high egts, i would run braided hose away from the turbo for water then use a barbed fitting and run a rubber hose to where you need it.
i did all mine through pirtek when i built my last custom turbo car, always helpful and the price is worth it, nothing worse than leaks around the turbo

i have seen a hose that is not braided it looks like rope or a mesh its obviously high temp did you look for something like this at pirtek or is braided the only hose that would do it

i just went with the braided, asked them what was the best solution to get this fitting onto this to go to here to do this.
they said, i said, yep sounds good.
basically only need it because the turbos get so hot, the rubber perishes, so anything that is designed to stand up to signifigant heat will do.
for example, my turbo used to melt high temp (600+C) rubber oil drain hose, and i had to get a full steel unit made up, i lost 2 turbos by them getting so hot the turbine disintegrated and made its way into the muffler
and the braided hoses look the same as they did the day they went on
