Seat Mounting

Post by qten »

Hi All,

I'm looking at putting new seats in my zuk, mainly because I no longer have any seats

As some people will know they were very dodgy datsun 200b seats or something alike.

My question is what’s the ruling on seats for Sierras? Do they have to be a particular type, Size, Mounted a particular way?

I'm thinking about mounting the drivers side rear of the seat with solid blocks of steel with holes taped into the ends i
e: like Damos body lift idea... :finger:

So any comments/suggestions as I don’t think the rear stock mounts mainly on the driver’s side had much thought into them.

Btw: I did a search and couldn't find much maybe my eyes are painted on

News update: QZuk had another coat of paint today on the back section and the b-pillar had its first coat of paint woohoo!! Excitement plus at this rate I’ll be driving it to the mall where people will run away due to the huge amount of bling I mean dents in it :D

When I put some GTi seats in mine, I just made sure to make the bracket modifications really neat with good welds, and it looks like it was made that way. Painted it all back to black of course.

The trick is to find some seats with very similar existing brackets, or take some brackets off some regular sierra seats and modify them to fit.

I also used some seats out of a Honda Civic Del Sol (the 2 seater things). Real comfortable seats, but had to make new mounting blocks for the rear mounts of them...
My tires were rubbing in the front, so I trimmed the hood, and now they're fine...
