Ok just got my zook to build up. I have a patrol but have been converted for a bit anyway.

What are a set of 84 model doors worth?

I have used to search function and not found much but can I put crawler gears in a 1l transfer case?

I dont think so, how hard is it to put a 1.3l case into a 1l body. I have read up on all the tail shafts ect to go from 1.3 to 1l but what about mounting?

cheers mike

Any doors from 1981 to 1996 will fit.

Should be between $150 to $350 each depending on age and condition. They do split though along the centre of the window sill, they're susceptible to rust and the baily channel gives up and slips down the door. Make sure you're not buying junk.

You can put crawler gears in your transfer case if it has a 4WD light.

No light = No crawler gears.

If you have a light, swapping cases to a 1.3 is easy as the flanges with the smaller 1.0 litre driveshaft flanges interchange. However, if you don't have the light you can't swap flanges with a 1.3 case as the splines are smaller. The mounts interchange between all 1.0 cases and all 1.3 cases - no problem there.

you can't swap diff pinion flanges for the same reason and the driveshaft plines aren't the same either, so you are stuck with re drilling the 1.3 flanges with the 1.0 pattern and machining sleeves to go over the 1.0 driveshaft spigots to take them up to 1.3 size.

Or make a pair of "mongrel" shafts with half 1ltr half, 1.3ltr uni's at one end of each drive shaft

I can't say I've had all that much luck with this so I wouldn't recommend it. The individual tolerances between the 1.3 and 1.0 uni's seem to mean that sometimes it works, and sometimes the uni is too tight in one plane or too loose in another.

I'd do it in an emergency, but I can't reocmmend it as a solution.

It might be feasible to get a 1.3 yoke machined flat to accept 1.0 internal clips though - that's crossed my mind but I was offered a 1.3 yoke drilled and the little sleeve to space the 1.0 spigot up to centre in the rebate in 1.3 drive flange so that's the way I've gone and it's been in the car for over 2 years with no trouble.

Hi guys thanks for the replys.

So i can put the gears in the 1L box if it has the light. What gears can I use?

Do the 6.5/1 gears fit into them?

Yes, any gears that fit a 1.3 will fit a 1.0 case with a shift light AFAIK.
