Buying a Hilux (or LC) - advice

Post by TransplantCanuck »

So, my search for my first Australian vehicle begins tomorrow. I'm going to look at a '98 Hilux 3.0 Diesel:

And this 2000 Landcruiser Diesel:

I have no idea what I should be looking for mechanically - any advice/tips?

I'll continue to update this thread with my other prospects as I come across them. At this point, Hiluxes and LCs are at the top of my list, and my budget is $15-20k. I'm also willing to consider the Patrol, Pajero, Navara, and Triton, but since this is the Toyota forum, I'll keep my questions limited to the Toyotas.
