Post by flyinwall »

lust wondering how people have put lux front springs on the rear of their zook and pics would be good so we can actually see how it has been done

Mines done by moving the rear hanger back to the end of the chassis, and the front hanger is only half on the original mounting plate - with new plate and gussets added to it to beef it up.

see 'the ufo' link below for pics, theres a link on page 2 i think that shows build images.

i moved my front hanger forward, but then re-drilled the spring perch, and made up an adaptor type thing to get the diff back to the original location (actually back 1" from stock). No picsa atm sorry :(

Extended rear of chassis and new x-member. Shackle eyes mounted to this, longer shackles.

does anyone actually have pics of the mods that they did so people can actually see what has been done????

i am thinking of making an adapter plate to bolt onto the front spring mount and welding another shackle mount on to the rear so i can make full use of the longer springs by moving the diff back a think it will move back about 100mm with these mods and hopefully give a smoother ride and better flex will post up pics when done but i still need to see pics of what others have done

moving the rear back 100mm is going to require body fab... on full flex youll scrub the rear of the rear arch. my rear is about 1" backwards with my setup.

like i said - pics in the "The UFO" link... pics i took and build pics in a link on page 2 which shows the bare chassis.

You have a LWB ute with miles of room to go back in the rear diff. You could add even longer leaves than lux fronts and just move the axle waaaaaay back.
