Rear spring retainers?
Moderator: Micka
Rear spring retainers?
Do you suppose upper spring retainers are required?
Any suggestions on what to use? Anyone make them here in Oz?
I've heard fencing wire is one trick to use.
That was a brand new Dunlop Grandtrek MT2, blew out at 100km/h!
It happened again since, but I noticed before it rubbed on the tire.
It's an OME 763 spring, N44 shock.

HSVRangie, they look like Expedition Exchange retainers! They're a bit pricey for what they are in my opinion. Especially after US$ conversion.
We've got some chunky cable ties at work, I reckon they might be the go!
They're supposed to hold up 1" coax on radio towers so they must be good!
Didn't think OME springs ever need retaining with matched shocks, I suppose mine have sagged a little! They're at least 3 years old.

HSV is right, these lower ones ROCK and are from www.expeditionexchange.com, VERY beefy. I have them and they have held my springs down great, I also have the rear RTE cones (www.rovertym.com)
