just wondering if anyone can tell me how to disengage a factory locker that won't switch off? the Gregorys manual i have doesn't have anything on this part. i can't figure out how to switch it off. does the locker rely on vacuum to engage or disengage or both. cheers

hey man. it relys on vacuum to both engage and dissngage.

If you think you having an issue with the solinoid, its on the passager fire wall, climb under you car when its running and pull the the two hoses off the vacuum unit and switch them around. then go for a slow drive, doing full lock one direction. Should disengage almost straight away. If not. dont push it too hard on a hard suface, or it may go pop.

If this doesnt work, you may find that the pin that is locking the diff in place has given up on you and seize. I'd try pulling it apart and cleaning it all, but other would say just hit it casing with a hammer a few times and, enither way, have the engine running, its still going to need that vacuum.
Hope this helps man

not a worry man. chances are that means that your soliniod is catus.

It might be worth while just checking botht he lines from the soliniod to the diff. You have just lost one, or dinted one up and that may be the reason.

But glad i could help man.
