I think there is a coolant temperature sensor that is hooked into the AC control circuit that cuts the AC off when it thinks the vehicle is getting too hot.

Dont know if just over half is too hot.

Yea i thought there may be a sensor somewhere.
I thought maybe even the thermo fan was'nt coming on soon enough or staying on long enough. :?

Same thing happened to mine.. tuned out the radiator was blocked .. but you couldnt see due to the air-con condenser.

The gauge shoould sit just under half if it goes to half the a/c will shut off. try idleing the car with the air on watching temp gauge. If the aircon cuts out you will here the clutch cut out but the ecu keeps the a/c fan on. They dont have to overheat for this to occur
