alloy bar?

Post by nicbeer »

To those that use alloy full bars, what are they like(meaning strength weight etc).

I have been offered a new (shop soiled) full bumper replacement winch bar for my zook for $300 not inc brackets but getting a price 2morrow for them, is this a good price?? it looks like the bocar bar without the black bits on it.

what have people done for recovery points on these as well?

sorta like the pic here.

85" drover
cheers

I had a Bocar on the front of my Feroza.......looked pretty....but completely useless when it came to stopping front end damage when it hit something (read-XE Falcon)

The bullbar was basically ripped off causing more damage to my car than to the idiot that cut in front of me :x

Go for either a steel bar or better still.......2003 the year of the tube 8)

that bar looks like you'd be catching it everywhere in the bush... perhaps you should be looking for something with a bit more clearance. unless of course you are already spring over or something?

a friend of mine put an alloy bar on, first trip out he bumped it into a bank and bent one of the corners - sounds like they may be a little more of a bumper than a bull bar?

Can't afford a ARB and don't really have the tools, expertise to make up one so a bought one is the way to go. It has to be better than the orig bumper for the front end or for the spotties.
