Fuel leaking out of the charcol cannister

Post by smurf »

Hi guys, just noticed today that I've got a bit of fuel leaking out of the black charcol cannister in my GQ ,304 VN V8 fitted, just wondering if there is a problem there or do I need a new one ,if so where do I get a new one from.

Cheers Mick..

I dont know much about those canisters (something to do with emissions?), but i did have one on my old shitbox corolla - used to make noises every now and then when the car was off.... just a thought, is the fuel tank breathing?

when you open the filler cap does it blow out petrol fumes under pressure? - is that pressure relief valve blocked/farked.

As for getting a new one, I woulda thought a few phone calls to a wrecker with commodores would sort you out?

Did you install the motor yourself? Woulda thought you could source a new one easily.

Just a thought.
