Must be selling like hotcakes too... I've seen all of two on the road and our purchasing girl at work bagged one as a loaner for a few days, despite there being absolutely zero chance of ever getting one approved as a work car.... the boss had to fight to get an XR6 approved as it's a "sports car"

apparently they are quite quick... all the better for running away from the people pointing and laughing at how ugly the hilux is.

so Im a tool then ? :finger:

my hilux is quite capable offroad and shown up quiet a few cruisers with 35's when mine only has 33's......

dont judge it just because its IFS, yeah they're not rock-crawler but they a pretty decent offroad.

the reason the TRD's were so expensive is Toyota sold the Hilux to TRD at full price, rather than looking after them and selling it at a wholesale rate, so even before TRD got stuck into them they were expensive.

Personally, it was a watse of money as aftermarket supercharger kits can get close to 300kW out of the Hilux/Prado V6's now and for cheaper too.

I had an email from Toyota announcing it's release some time ago, I replied statying TRD could do better and I will not be buying one as my 30 year old 2F FJ40 makes more power with 183kw@rw. Giving me no incentive to trade mine in yet.

TRD wanted to know how I made my 2F so powerful  I asked for a job still waiting :D

The TRD Hilux has a heap of power for thwe ute that it is but it is not worth the amount they were asking.

They did drive well, and smoked up the rear wheels without a problem.

I wouldnt want to driove them in the wet.....the standard V6 in the wet is scary enough.

I saw an add in either a paper or online regarding massive bargains to be had on all TRD stock. Must be hurting....
