oily spark plug

Post by bluecj »

hi there, first post. just bought a 1995 mitsu montero 3.5l two days ago. i took it home and pulled out one of the spark plugs to see how they were and found out that there was motor oil down in where the sparkplug goes. it almost covered the whole plug up. does anyone know where this oil could be coming from? again i am new to the montero/pajero so any help would be great. also does anyone know what gear ratio i might have. its got an auto tranny and rear diff lock if that helps. thanks

I am not familiar with this motor but I have a stab at it!
Is/was the oil clean? Possibly spilt when being added to motor?

Was it dirty/used? Possiibly leaking from rocker cover?

Hope it's not major $$$

cheers
