i need help
i need help
hey i'm having trouble with my brakes. first i disconected my brake to put my x link in but now they dont work... what happens is that i pump them up and as soon as i take my foot off the pedel is sucks air in and all the fluid pumps back up. i think it might be my master cylider sucking air but my mate recons it could be my booster. if it was my booster that means that it wont even pump up or while i'm pumping them and hold the pedle down it would be leaking then??
bleed
give it a good gravity bleed for a while and then start at the left rear and work your way forward. Patrol's can be a bit moody when it bone's to bleeding. Could well be you booster. Check vacuum and see if there's any signs of fluid leak at booster and master. Check you put the brake line on properly. If you removed the caliper's for any reason, check you put them on the right side's, sounds dumb but iv seen in done and it wont bleed up cos the nipple will be facing down. Other then that there's not much more that could be stopping you from getting a good pedal.

Try clamping the 2 brake lines that go tothe front & rear diffs. Then having someone in pushing on the brake pedal if the pedal goes rock hard the master cylinder is ok. If it is soft there is a problem. If you find a problem you can bleed the master cylinder seperatly by cracking the brakelines you will see the air come out. If it doesnt bleed up the cylinder needs replacing.
brakes
try bleeding the master cylinder first and then bleed the nipple on top of your rear diff right up the top and then start from the rear left wheel and work you way forward
