The stock 3rz manifold/header is a decently designed tube header. Just put the new exhaust onto the back of it and save some coin.

Drop some 4.3 or down to 4.88 diff gears in it, will poke along better

haha naa, this is the only hilux i'v drivin. is orite but i dont think the 3rz is that great, if i was swaping an older engine for one of these i'd be looking at something beta like a V6 or even a V8.

just picked up my 3rz now :D the stock manifold looks pretty free flowing so ill ditch the extractors. is a 2.5 inch exhaust the way to go?

2.5in should be fine, it is a big displacement 4cylinder so wouldn't go smaller. As for mandrel bent vs press bent, not sure, I went mandrel just in case I turbo it later on (got the turbo manifold already :D ).

If you turbo it, id run a 3inch or bigger. even half a bar of boost is a shitload of air coming out of 2700cc motor.
