axle problems any help

axle problems any help
we are currently changing out the disc brakes and pads out on 2001 defender td5 and having problems putting back on the cerclip back on the axle. the probelm is that the axle is not coming out far enough to re-clip the cerclip back on. i have put on a brand new bearing seal but it is deffently on the right way. i have no idea what could be stoping it as the left hand side went on no worries. any help on this would be great.
From memory you can loosely screw one of the axle cap bolts into the end of the axle, then while holding a little pressure pulling the bolt outwards, give the axle cap a light tap with a hammer, and it should slide that little bit further over the axle.we are currently changing out the disc brakes and pads out on 2001 defender td5 and having problems putting back on the cerclip back on the axle. the probelm is that the axle is not coming out far enough to re-clip the cerclip back on. i have put on a brand new bearing seal but it is deffently on the right way. i have no idea what could be stoping it as the left hand side went on no worries. any help on this would be great.
