Inverting shackles

Post by RockyF75 »

Where do i buy them?
How much do they cost?
How are they different to normal shackles, different shape?
Will they solve the problem completely? Or do I need to get longer springs aswell?

Just been on my first bit of 4x4ing in my new 60 and spent ~2hrs getting one of the back shackles where it should be. REALLY don't want to do that again.

BBM have two different types of extended shackles on their site, but don't mention whether they cure the inverting or not.

Yeah my bad. I meant, inverting shackles, as in thats what my stock ones are doing :bad-words:

Do they fix the problem on their own though? Don't need new springs? Cause the old feller that helped us fix it this arvo seemed fairly adamant I needed longer main springs

Do they look like these? Image

yep- they will stop the shackles from inverting (thats what the 2nd bar at the top is for- it hits the chassis and limits how far it can go)

New springs are up to you.

yes they look like that. no you dont need longer main leafs. but you have prob bent your spring somewhat... but it will prob be fine. for that matter, making sure u havnt got shagged bushes also helps. but ya may aswell chuck in the anti inversions anyways
