wrapped ifs springs... post up pics of your track bars

Post by 308LUX »

got my ifs springs into the rear of the hilux yesterday and took it out for a play only to find when i got home the drivers side pack wrapped like an ' S ' and passenger side starting to aswell...
both load springs were left out, so running 3 leaf pack but have no axle wrap bar yet... is this why ? or should i run a load spring aswell
its an 85 2.4l diesel... slow as

running 200mm eye to eye shackles ... diff moved 4 1/2 " back from using ifs springs ... was extremely happy with performance flex great but there shagged now

getting new set tomorrow... god damn it

got pics but dont know how to post em up

If you do not have a track bar you need to use the load springs but this will limit flex.

Maybe people running track bars can post up what works for them?

i just run the 3 leaf ifs pack, no wrap from mine, only a 2.4diesel though, none are bent or out of shape, the shackles arent bent or twisted, ive been running them for over 12 months and still not problems, are they bent or just inverted over the diff.

The diff shouldnt be 4.5inch back, youd run out of slip joint.

shaped like an 'S' so in other words stuffed i have got pics but dont know how to post pics up ... the ifs springs i bought have moved the diff exactly 4.5" back ... so i made up a new tail shaft 4.5 " longer with longer spline and tube etc and balanced ... my shackles 200mm eye to eye are fine it was the springs which wrapped really badly... pinion angle (diff) on flat ground was pointing skyward... im only running 2.4 diesel aswell

got new set tday running load springs until track bar is made seemed 2 run ok... no wrap but not as much flex :x
