im lookin at putting a su carby on my 1.3, the carby im lookin at using is a hif38 mounting to the original manifold with an adaptor. the question is apart from ebay does anyone know where i could find one of these carbies?

Not sure on the Part no ,
But if you after second hand look for a british wreckers .
early jags ran two x 2" somthing like that ,
On the other hand if your that way inclined early range rover run two
1 3/4 inch ? cdi type carbs parts should be easyier to get for the RR ones i imagine , rovers where 3,5 ltr so probly a little closer jetting wise,
as the jag was a 4.2 ltr, considering you will only use one instead of two.

i think its the fact a vit is a mikuni carb which has some relation to SU.
i have to say its a lot of effort for a carb (makes sense on a 1lt which is sidedraft)

There was an adaptor for the su's to the standard 1.3 sierra manifold from an english based website i found ages ago cost about $50 from memory. I almost got one but my mate wouldn't let me have one of his SU's to try out so i didn't bother. Could easily make an adaptor with an exhaust bend and 2 bits of plate to match the carbies bolt patterns.
