TJM Ox Winch wiring help

Post by Badass Bundy »

Hey guys,

I took off my TJM Ox winch 10,000lbs from my old 4wd and now attaching it (3 weeks later) to my new 4wd.

I cant for the life of me remember where one of the wires go. I dont have the installation guide. You have a red, yellow and black wires that go from the control box to the terminals of the winch motor. But the wire that is in question is the thick black wire from the control box and goes somewhere. Below is a picture of it.

Its that black wire just left of the red one. I attached it to the winch motor but it doesnt work. Is it a negative wire?

Any advice or a copy of the installation guide would be great.

Thanks in advance!

There is the red one to positive of the winch the yellow and black for winch in and out and you should have another terminal on the opposite side of the red one for the negative which is connected to the battery. The fourth one from the control box should be to the positve on the battery.

Sorry im a bit confused there gubeaut

There are 6 cables in total:
1 & 2 - Yellow and black on winch motor (winch in and out)
3 - Red positive on winch motor
4 - Another red and black that go from the control box to the negative and positive terminals of the car battery
5 - A thin black wire that goes on the winch motor opposite the red wire (negative im guessing)
and the wire in question is number 6 - a thick black wire from the control box to go somewhere. I need to know where this somewhere is. haha

Thanks!
