Solenoid or Electronic Isolator Dual Battery Systems?

Want to put in a dual battery system in my 2002 Grand Vitara.
Which is better? and or why?
All it will do is run some lights and every so often a fridge.

A solinoid is cheap, easy to fit, and reliable. I have run one in the Rocky for years, with no problems. All you need is the solinoid and a relay, probably $150 tops.

You dont need dual batteries if youre just running a few lights, but it is a good idea with a fridge.
I use the Traxide Tronics SC40 electronic controller with no problems at all. For Outers members theyre around $100.

yeah at Tuff Truck this year I ran the fridge from friday through to sunday arvo and the car wouldn't start. It started sat night but not sunday. so i'm thinking if i get the dual battery system i don't ever have to worry about getting stuck again.

i run a optima yellow top battery so as to run an engel and a burnbrite light out the back, got my local sparky to do all the wiring, solenoid,leads,plugs,battery monitor and hard wired the engel lead, seen to many leads come out while traveling along and bugger up the tucker not to mention the beer gets warm :bad-words: cost $450.00 all up works a treat and i didnt lift a finger :armsup:
i dont naturaly look this bad work done it to me
