if you dont plan on spending all your money on it get a shorty, i loved mine.
a long wheel base is a lot more easy to mod but if your only going a small lift and tyres i believe a shorty will out perform a lwb

id go shorty to.
i drove my suzuki for nearly 12 months and drove it everywhere my mates took there lwb patrols. so unless your planning on climbing cliffs or need the space i see no need for a lwb. now i own a gq shorty and its awesome.
wouldnt be so keen on the wheel base extension myself unless it was going comp only. my wheel base will be extended 12mm in front and nearly 20mm in the rear. not for stability just to make things work properly.

swb are so much more fun to drive. easier to turn, and easy to park, swb do most tracks easier coz they are made by lwb vehicles... ( opinion...) just have to get used to going down steep stuff.... lol.... enjoy

it will still b driven on the road so i was thinkin like 3''lift with 33's and later down the track maybe 5'' n 35''s cus i dont think u can run 35''s on a 3''lift cus my mate has 5'' and his 35's still rub and his is a ute.
but i would b happy 2 run 33's 4 the time being im sure it will go better than my hilux i got now lol.

33's fit under standard suspention, was provent to me by a mate last trip out. and 35's will fit under 2-3in lift with rear qauter chop or guard trim, no need for 5in with 35s unless thats wat you want

Unless you lift it about 10" it will still rub in the rear. Go for a 3" lift and stay with that, anything more then4" is about the image than any performance gain.
The best allround wheelbase is halfway between SWB and LWB. At the MWB the width to length ratio is 1.6:1 and that is about right for stability vs manuverability. That is the ratio most desert racing trucks use. BUT it still depends on what you do so there is no perfect length
