nissan carby problems HELP
nissan carby problems HELP
my son has a 1990 gq 4.2petrol runs good for about 2mins after starting then dies lack of fuel we have drained fuel tank cleaned all fuel lines overhaulled carby checked fuel pump new fuel filters new fuel still same problem only way to get it to run is to use throtle upcontrol to make it idle fast has new plugs new points new condenser tried everything we can think of with no result it seems something is shuting down the fuel suply then you start it up and after a min or two same thing happens does any one have any sugestions
The carb has a solenoid on the side at the top , it shuts off the idle passage when it loses power (when the ignition turned off) it stops the fuel in the passage . It's to stop engine running on after ignition off . The engine will run (although rough) if the pedal is held open enough to get some fuel through the progression ports . SO this is why i said to check the solenoid power supply , should have made sure i worded it better so as not to confuse it with a diesel shut down .
Nup not telling
