80 Series Door Light diode question

Post by Toy80Diesel »

Hi,

I've got an 80 Series and looking through the wiring diagrams there are a couple of diodes in the setup. Basically, it means when you open the drivers door, only the front section will illuminate, rear door only and the rear section will light up. These diodes stop the flow. I want to remove these diodes, but I don't know where in the car they are located. I've bridged wires from the front door switch to the rear but this seems to work for a short amount of time. First time I re checked the solder and it needed to be redone but this time I'd rather just eliminate the diodes. (Once I find them! ) So any idea's where they would be located in the car?

Thanks in advance...

Try the kick panels. Of memory it is taped to the wiring loom. two wires going into a little black plastic thingy (diode pack). Wire colours something like these red / black red /white red/ yellow

Good luck
