hey
i got a sierra with a vitara 1.6 in it, and i pulled the airflow meter out to start connecting my snorkel and it fell apart. couple questions.
where would i get a new one?
roughly how much should i expect to pay?
and when i put it back in the shed i didnt have it in the car at all and it seemed to run the same as when i had it in there. is this a sign that it was stuffed any way?

Second hand info so take it with a grain of salt but was reading on redline gti.com a guy that was turbo'ing his G16B. when he disconected the airflow meter the engin stilll ran seemingly normally, his thoughts ran along the lines of the computer having a fail safe airflow map programed in based on throttle position sensor inputs. If you removed the throtle position sensor inputs it would just stall i reckon, would be good to see if it could run with airflow inputs but no throttle pos sensor inputs good experement when mines running i reckon.
But times two wanting to know how much and where a new airflow sensor could be had. I need one as well. . . . . lotsa $$$ im thinking.

Dan
the mounting threads are tearing out the tube bit. ones come off completely and the others split and about to come off.
i'll try and get some pics.
