If $400 is your budget for a pair of seats, and you want a new, aftermarket seat, stick with what you have. You can't buy a seat that's of equivalent quality to the factory seats in your car now for even twice that amount.

Occasionally, Recaro's come up in import wreckers from JDM Type-R integra's, EVO lancers, or SSR-G Surfs for about your budget. So long as the seats are tight and the car hasn't been in a huge smash, they would be ideal - but these will be >10years old.

If you get them from a surf, they will be very close to a bolt in, bases and all, to your hilux.

Any sort of quality new aftermarket seat start at about $400 each for a fixed back seat and $800 each for a recliner, + bases.

Don't scrimp on seats. They are the first thing that keeps you in place in an accident. If the seat breaks, the seatbelt can't keep you in the car. Same goes for bases. I've seen seats tekscrewed in, and all sorts of filed out holes/packing washers and low grade hardware etc to make seats "fit"

PS in regard to the old corduroy SAAS seats - if you saw how these were constructed you wouldn't use one as an office chair, let alone in a 4WD. More recent SAAS product is quite good, but not cheap.
