hey fellas, dads been asking me to find out information on what he can do to our 2001 2.8L turbo deisel pajero to increase the power. mainly for towing our caravan.

ive told him a bigger exhaust so im looking into that now, if anyone has done an exhaust system to their 2.8td, please tell me your thoughts on what worked best and any other helpfull info.

G'day, I've had a 2.5" exhaust fitted from behind the flexible joint,it's basically straight through with 1 resonator and it made a big diff to the low down response.
It drives better now on 33's than it did before on 31's.The turbo spins up a lot faster than the original exhaust.
You could go 2.5" from the dump pipe but the exhaust bloke said there was not much extra gained for the expense.And he had played around on his own 2.8 turbo diesel.
It is louder ;-) But with the windows up you hardly notice.

I know a Paj owner in Queensland who owned a shorty with a Commodore V6 conversion. One club trip, he and a fellow club member (with a 2.8td lwb) lined up on a beach for a drag race. The diesel won.

AFAIK, it was primarily more boost & more fuel. NFI what the economy was like...
