transfer noise in feroza
Moderator: Tiny
If it sounds like teeth slipping then yeah its probably the transfer, I had the sound every now and then, but once I fitted my 33's it was there all the time, whenever the driveline was under heavy load (like when going up a steep rocky hill and the wheels would start slipping), spoke to the daihatsu wreckers in brisbane here and he agreed, grabed another transfer for $300 and swapped them over, I pulled the old one apart while I was at it and yeah it was shagged, the chain had stretched so much it was wearing through the alloy case and a steel shaft near it.
Its a relatively easy swap, just unbolts off of the back of the box, just drop the tailshafts and g/box crossmember and lower the back of the box down, gave plenty of room.
Hope that helps
