Outer Limits 4x4 Board

as soon as i start it up, the light comes on on the dash, im thinking it might mean low on break fluid but not sure, anyone got any ideas?

put some brake fluid in it mate

Check the brake fluid. Might be just the hand/park brake light getting stuck on check the switch

Could be both, either the resovior level or the handbrake, make sure the handbrake handle goes all the way in, the cable tends to fray on the end and causes them to jam out a little bit

yer brake fluid is handy. Brake light is a level sensor in the resoviour, the handbrake has its own light "park brake".

i disconnected the park brake sensor because it kept coming on when the handbrake bounced when offroad.

if the alternator has an external voltage regulator then it could be that, mine has one and it causes some dash lights to stay on for a minute or 2 after start up
mine is 2.4lt diesel

Mine is doing the same (LN106). Its not the fluid or the handbrake as that has different light. I just ignore it now, been on for months haha!

Any help would be good tho! Auto leccy reckons could be the sensor or something??

Indeed it cant be both, they have seperate lights, it is the sensor in the resivour top it up its low, or the sender is faulty

it isn't because of a loss of vaccum my light comes on if it has low vaccum or brake fluid

nah i topped it up with brake fluid and its sweet, light went off. all good.

my ln106 has a dodgey sensor which causes the brake light to come on all the time. Give it a couple taps or fiddle with it a bit and it comes good for couple days then it comes back. I just live with it or disconnect it lol

Don't mean to hijack, but sometimes when i turn the ignition, the brake warning light comes on, there is a loud click from the engine bay (relay by the sounds of it) and it refuses to kick over.
Doesn't happen all the time, but it usually takes a few attempts to get it going after the ute has been sitting for a while. When it does fire, the brake light goes away.
Brakes are working fine, plenty of compression and fluid, pads are a bit down though. I didn't think there was a safety over ride that prevents you to start with faulty brakes but am I wrong? Any thoughts?
Ute is a 92 LN106

Is there a float sensor in the brake fluid reservoir? Could have lost it's boyancy and not float anymore. Had it on a falcon once. Just an idea.
