DIFF!!!
My rear diff has clunked when driving carpark speed or 25 km roadwork speed, is this common. it has been going on for years, mechanic has never said its a problem? am i mistaken or is a clunking diff a problem! 93 feroza sx11 widetrack
Short answer.... it is not normal!
Any sound like that is a sign that something is not right. Sounds like excessive backlash in the main mesh if it is a significant noise. This would either be created by a worn bearing or some other part wearing out.
With that said, could be a small issue that wont kill your diff for years but eventually it will take its toll
