Sub tank problem again

Post by numbnuts »

I have spent the last two days putting in an aftermarket sub tank. after installing it i started the patrol as you would and seen that the sub tank light came on. I disconnected the power as stated in other threads with no luck.
I have noticed that when the light has come on other times it is with the water in fuel filter light, but this time its by it self.
When first starting the patrol the light is not on but after 30 to 45 seconds it lights up.
There is no fuel in the tank at all and maybe this is the problem, i don't know.
would someone have any idea's as i don't want to pull it out again, its a sh#@ of a job and one you only want to do once.
cheers.

If it is a GU fit a good earth from the chassis to the cab and the fuel tank, remove the battery for 10 min and retry.

Hi mate, I have sorted my problem, I must have pinched a wire when i jacked the tank up in place.
I did have the same problem you have when i had the original sub in, I ended up getting one of ARB's turbo timers and it solved the problem straight away. I hate buying anything of ARB as i find them over priced and their after sale service leaves a lot to be desired but they had the fix for my problem.
cheers.
