GQ knock in front end

Post by HellfisH »

Hey guys, I just fitted new springs and shocks in the front end of my GQ and I have noticed a knock coming from the front right, I picked up on it the other day on my way to work, our street has the big wide speed humps, going up on the humps is fine but coming off there is a knock, has anyone else had this or have any idea what it could be? It doesn't do it when I go over really slow, but going over them at about 20-30 it knocks in the front right.

check your shock nuts are still tight, my mates vr wagon made nasty noises till he realised he forgot to put the bush washer on.lol check all your bushes in front end, panhards, radius arms and even your body mounts. noises frustrate me to mine knocks and drives me crazy :bad-words:

Is it a suspension lift that you fitted? If so make sure that the shocks match the springs. If the shocks are too short this will cause your problem. The exact same thing happened to me when I got a 2" suspension lift. They had given me 2" lifted springs and standard shocks so the shocks were topping out as the front wheels left the speed bump.

Check your castor bushes as well. Mine did the same and found the bushes had gone

here's a different take. my radius arm front bolts loosen up from extreme flex. It created an irregular knock over bumps at speed or tight turning. Mine is also a five.
