Getting rid of IAC valve on 3rz?

My IAC valve is playing up and a replacement from toyota is $500 and non genuine is around $390.

Can i block off the IAC valve and adjust idle using base idle screw?

I know it shouldnt be done this way but a new one is not really an option at the moment

wreckers. It will be a pain in the ass if you try and bypass it.
