i am new to the 4x4 world and i would like some hints and tips for my hilux.
its a 94 solid axle front 4 door
2" suspension lift
33" bfg muddies
i need to get more lift
would i be better off going with extended shackles or body lift?
thanks

depends wat you want out of it. shackles are illegal body lift isnt so bad as it can be approved through QLD transport. i have a 2 inch BL on my solid axle lux and it still feels stable and has let me fit 33s. why do you need more lift, are the tyres scrubbing?

tyres are scrubbing a little
is a body lift a big job to do?

ok then, not a huge job me and a mate did mine in a few hours and that was buggering around fixing the front bar and radiator and gear stick
just need to lift it, add new blocks and rebolt and then cut and shove anything that rubs. may have trouble with gear sticks, radiator shroud and any barwork. otherwise it isnt to bad

extended shackels would be easier i think
i dont really mind that they are illegal
33's are not allowed on my car anyway
are extended shackels realiable?

Adding extended shackles to lift the car will wreck any shackle angle you have, that is if you intend to use it off road or just want the tough look on road.
IMO moving the front diff foward is the best option and would be easier, but thats just my opinion.
PS : Vertical shackles don't look the slightest bit tough, functional or cool haha.
PPS : You don't need more lift i have 35s with 2 inch of lift and could put 37s in without an issue.

I havn't cut anything beside the back of the bull bar, move the diff foward, and ruf, gaining around 5 or 6 inchs.
The damage on the firewall end of the guard is from 33's before i did the above.
You can see the angle that the shock is on from the mods, shock hoops should be done also.

Did you change the front spring hangers or leave them in the stock position?
