i have a hi steer set up that i want to put on my hilux. but wen i was looking at it yesterday i noticed that the tie rod will hit the sump do i need to do a RUF conversion or just put bigger springs in i dont really want to lift the car to much more as it clears 36'' easily as is so i dont want it to be to hi. how much lift do u get out of doing RUF wat do u guys recommend any help would be appreciated cheers

I have around 2 2 1/2" out of my RUF combo, and a bit more with the dropped hanger.

I clear the sump easily.

How much lift do you have at the moment?

mabye if you dont want more lift you judt need to modify the sump where is the deepest part of the sump it needs to be at the rear to clear the drag link

i have been searching RUF and it looks like i need to get a drop hanger and extended shackles and new shock hoops and shocks how big do the shackles need to be? as i have some 2'' ones kicking round. do i need to have a drop hanger? wat is the pro and cons of it. and wat kind of rears do i use just standard ones or ifs one and do i have to mod them at all. are there any other things i will need to change

Mate your 2" extended shackles will be fine, you will need a dropped hanger to correct your caster. You could get way with not doing the shock hoops but you might need to look into extended brake lines.
