Busted Fuel Line

Post by mellows40 »

G'day guys,

Well.. Today I took the 40 out in the mud... around Narbethong and Toolangi in Victoria with The Dandy Ranges Four Wheel Drive Club.
And Had an absolute Ball tearer of a day with one exception... the old girl is duel fuel and after most of the day had passed we stopped for yet another down tree over the track.. I turned and noticed blue smoke coming out of the engine bay... Not a good look.... upon investigation , with fire extinguisher in hand found the problem...
The soild fuel line at the carby had broken off and the fuel cut off switch was leaking fuel onto the HOT exhaust manifold...
after a quick plug .. provided by my thumb.. a fellow driver jumped in and removed the short tube.. crushed the end and folded it so it wouldn't leak.....

Other than and LPG mechanic where can i get a new solenoid cut off switch and flaired tubing to suit?... fotos wiil follow of the bust off and quick fix..

Any ideas? or should I just bite the bullet and get someone who knows more than me about fuel lines fix it?

Cheers Guys
