Just after advice as to a price for my truck. I have a guy wanting to buy it and I said 8000 but looking around I think its cheap and I am in 2 minds about parting with it but I would like to get a GU. He also knows the truck and knows whats on it so I can't go taking stuff off.

Its a 89 GQ TD42 260,000 kms
- DTS Turbo kit running 12 psi
-3" mandrel bent exhaust.
-ARB Rear Locker and compressor.
-4" lift EFS coils Pro Comp ES9000 Shocks
-Wizard Quick release sway bars
-Superior Engineering Adj Drag Link and 4way RTC dampner.
-15x8 alloys with 33 Wrangler MTRs
-TJM Steel winch bar and Lightforce 240 blitz spotties
-2 fairly new batteries 1 is trojan deep cycle.
-TX4400 UHF and GME white aerial.
-Pioneer CD player
-VDO Boost and Pyrometer Gauges
-New 90 Amp alternator done about a thousand k's.
-Rear light on bar on wheel carrier
-Alloy full length roof rack
Body is Ok for age small dint in the bottom of the rear quarter from a rock and the bonnet has a bit of crazing.

Would be interested in some feedback as to what people reckon is fair.
Maybe 8 is the mark.
Thanks.

i wouldnt take his first off try n talk him up as i think 8k is a bit cheap for td42 wif moderate mods.

where did u get the 90amp altnaotr? dus it have the pump on the back or have u fitted a gu vacume pump tot he timing case?

8 is not way off probably but there would be very, very few 1989 TD42s getting around with only 260,000 km on them. I would guess the average one out there is getting closer to 400k from what I've seen.

If the overall condition is good then I think you could probably get a little more. But maybe not a LOT more.

Agree. but depends how fast you wanna sell it. if in a hurry, take the 8k. If you dont care, then throw 10k on it, and wait... then in the end you will get knocked down to 8.5k, no real advantage.

Doesnt sound like a bad unit really.

Sadly tons of accessories dont add that much to the price. Your better to strip and sell..

its still a 20yr old car now.

You can get GU 4.5's for $10-12k now.
