Just wondering if a TD04 turbo off a wrx would suit a 2h. My brother has finally given up on his project car and is parting it out and he has a TD04 turbo in very good condition. I can get it cheap, well he owes me a couple of dollars so its sort of free.
Just wondering if there is anyone in the know about these things.

To work it out correctly.
you'd need to do this
Find out what the current HP is on the motor.
decide on what HP your after.
Then you'd work out the air flow required for the HP your after (maths)
Then you work out the pressure ratio (maths)
Then you use a turbo chart to work out if a turbo is correct or not, too small a turbine will retard the motor as exhuast gas won't flow properly, also this could cause the compressor wheel to spin too fast melt then go straight into the motor and out the other end.
On the other hand you could pick a turbo that's too larger and thus never produces the air flow and offer low power again but don't have the problem of the compressor wheel melting.
They are the 2 main reasons for doing the maths.
Theres a few different ways of working out the above but you might get away with it, by looking at existing kits and seeing what turbos they have and using a kit turbo map to compare with a td04 turbo map.
WRX turbos are IHI turbos which is a Mitsubishi company, they have a tri-angle exhuast mount.
