Hi,

Considering LSD for front of 100 series live axle (manual hubs). I believe hilux/prado rear LSD will fit. If correct which models of hilux/prado?

Anyone done it?
what did u think?

Please dont tell me to get a locker.. I am weighing up options. :)

If your 100 part time or full time 4wd?

You dont want a LSD in the front, theres a reason manufactures dont put on in there, will be bloody hard to turn corners... and it will flog out in no time anyway.

LSD wont affect the steering, LSD wont be worth the effort fitting it either IMHO

could be done.. but why waste ur time with a toyota LSD,,, may as well stick with the open centre.. will end up with the same result.. even if u shim it!

Toyota LSDs are generally good for about 20,000kms before they flog out...

I think LSD means to Toyota "Limited Seviceability Duration".

well 20000 kms in the front that will only be used when offroad (manual Hubs) seems ok to me. I was thinking of packing it tight so it only differentiates under heavy pressure, thereby saving axles etc.

No,but the torque steer would pull the wheel clean out of your hand.

(I was hoping this joke would not be taken seriously)

I do run Richmond Auto lockers in the front of Hilux's and Landcruiser's with great results with a well sorted Toyota lsd in the rear's.Yes a Toyota LSD can last for years if you build them right.
The auto lockers are still a hand full in the front but you get used to them.If I had money to burn air lockers all round would be my prefered option, just so I could turn them on and off as I needed.
