possible project

Post by vt 98 »

hi all,i have come across a very cheap patrol.it's a gq ,mq hibrid ie gq chassis with a mq body fitted to it. It's got the gq front gaurds and the bloke has changed the rear gaurds to gq as well and the body is in top shape what i am considering is doing a body swap as the new body is in a lot better condition than mine, other than a hole where a sunroof was fitted but that is easy fixed with some tinted pespex and some window rubber.know what i am wanting to find out is are the dashes interchangable between the two models. i may even just fit the 4.2 petrol and box to the knew chassis as it maybe a lot easier but i can not stand the look of the mq dash. If any one out there has done this i would love your input and anyone elses for that matter. Cheers in advance Daniel

more details please.

Sounds like your getting a modded gq chassis and gq diffs. Most of the rest of it is not much good.

You would be better off re-cabbing yours from the sound of it.

mq dash is different, as are seat mounts. Doors fit though. Fire wall, gearbox tunnel different, body mounts different.
