One thing i learnt quick with seirra's is they drop brake pads when they get low, so i always have a set in the tool box, but.....
has anyone ever come across this problem like i have in their disc braked 1.3 seirra NT?.
My drivers side, front, outer brake pad wouldn't stay in the caliper. It wouldn't seat the tabs off the brake pads. After two unsuccessful attempts to put the pad and in make it stay in there i realised the front outside of the bracket (the part that houses the front locating tab on the pad), was bent so far outward the pad would litteraly fall forward and out of the caliper.
I've bent the bracket back into place but obviously its now a stressed and therefore weaker piece of metal which I’m not really comfortable with in my brakes.
Has anyone else came across this problem. Does anyone know how it would have happened, and how I could prevent it happening again.
Cheers Weaver
(sorry for the lack of pictures, but I’m hoping it explained it enough for someone who knows what brakes look like can understand)
