Engine upgrade to GQ

Post by Not-e-Nuf »

hi all....my problem is that my 4.2 petrol carby is goonnee!! Bottom end. To rebuild i have been quoted $3500-4000. Does this sound right??
Also i would like more power so thought this is a perfect oppurtunity to go v8. I would love to put a 454 in there. People who have done it.....Was it hard?? amount of money it cost??
Can you point me in the right direction, or someone in nsw (sydney) that has done it. Can you tell me where, who, etc...
Any help would be great. thanks in advance

Bloke I know has bought 2 TB42's for ~$500 and both were fawkt. Not worth it.
4000... depends on if you can do it yourself or like Mick, you have to pay someone.. $4000 is what I'd have expected usin Nissan bits.
