hey guys
brought a 2001 tj wrangler a coupleof months ago and want to give it an oil change and was told they use a thicker oil than normal is that true or not and if so what oil ?

Never heard that. I have a 2000 TJ. Owners manual says

10W-30 (preferred) for -18deg C to 38 deg plus
5W-30 for temps below -29dec to max 38 deg

Obviously Canberra doesn't get THAT cold ;) I've always used 10W-30
