HIGH KM'S ON 3.5V8 1988 110?

Post by phtest »

Seen a 1988 110 3.5 V8 with 360000kms. Can they do this amount? How much life does it have left? What is it worth?

Not to sure if the old V8 can do high Km's. The guy says its been serviced reguarly. But that could mean anything.

who knows! Well maintained, the engines are good for 500thou plus.

edit: I'd like to ad that it obviously might be down on power and probably most that have 500thou could have done with a rebuild, but they still start, produce enough hp and run well enough so beside new cam and chain, most are left un touched.

As Grimy said, the engines will do very high KM if well looked after. They are quite a reliable unit. That is about the km you would expect for a vehicle that age.

The valves and timing gear seem to usually need an overhaul every 200k km or so though.

What they are worth depends entirely on condition. I have seen them sell between 1.5k and 6+k.
