Going to do a conversion in a gq from a tb42 to a td42t.i am able to get hold of a second hand box and transfer out of a 2.8td gu will this box bolt up to a td42t and will it handle the power

2.8 is a small box, TB and TD are the same box. You can re-drill the TB bell housing to take the TD starter motor or get a TD bell housing and bolt straight on. Even engine mounts are the same.

The td 28 gear box is smaller would not bolt up to a td 42. The tb 42 and td 42 gearboxs are the same. So why not use your orginal ?
Anything is possible, it just comes down to time and money.
