Leaking front diff GQ! bent?

Post by MUNGA GQ »

My front diff has a weeping problem.
The left side inner axel seal leaked, so i changed it.
Then the right side inner axel seal leaked , so i changed it.
Now the left side is leaking again. but not on the inside of the hub. it is dripping out were the bolts holding the 4x4 engaging dial thing bolts on.
All this is over about 5000ks tops.
The breather is not blocked.
Whats the best way measure the diff to see if it is bent?
or what else could it be?
I have fitted new wheel bearings as well.

Take one of the bolts out of the king pin put a cup under it leave it sit for a few days see how much oil comes out. If its still leeking will be iner axle seal which could mean you have bent housing. Go and get a wheel aliment done that will tell you if its bent :)

I have fitted new wheel bearings as well.
could mean

collapsed swivel hub bearings
wrong seal
seal not put in correctly
damaged seal when sliding in axle.

.... or bent housing.
