On-Track SSS

Post by Smithy jnr »

The On-Track SSS is on again for those interested in competing please contact Darren Green or me.
We have heaps of new tracks to use and have re-designed the stages to avoid the issue we had last time with a slippery downhill section that Clint and Shayne will remember well...

This year it will be a 2 car teams event, held at Bindarree, (where the Ateco was held). There will be stages on Saturday and Saturday night. Stages will be long, last year it was over 2 hrs for one stage only, and expect to winch often.

If you are interested in competing please forward an expression of interest to Darren Green with your team members details, we are only accepting limited numbers: krimnlracing@optusnet.com.au
Date: September 19th-20th
Costs: $100 per head.
Camping on site, support crew $20 per head for camping.

we still have a few spots left so if your keen to be a part of this fun weekend give me a call asap.

the weekend will kick off with scruiteneering & registration @ 10am on saturday 19th. after this we will have lunch and then the first team will leave at 1pm. teams will leave in 2 to 5 minute intervals, this will depend on the weather.
After the first stage we will have to for repairs and dinner and then the night SSS will start about 6pm.

we have decided that if your team mates car is to break you can still finish the stage. the catch is that the driver & navi have to roll 2 tyres from the broken car over the finish line. :D :D

drinks will take place after the night stage.

Sunday we will head to the Engel round 4 property to drive some of the round 4 stages.

we are looking for a few groups of people to marshall at secret check points. you dont need to be a trained marshall and will get to watch some great action.

Contact myself or Wayne Smith if you want to help out.

Weathers looking good for a tough ON-Track SSS, please bring chainsaws, shovels, drag chains, etc for the Sunday to assist with the Rd 4 property setup. After we build the tracks we can have a play on them in the afternoon

what a fantastic event,
nice weather for the day stage which most people winched about 12 times on. we only had 4 teams complete the day stage.

the night stage started at 7 on a much wetter track. It didnt cause to many extra winches but the few extras were hard long pulls up slippery hills. 3 teams finished the night stage.

we have had great feedback over the last 2 days with most teams saying they will be back, we have had great comments like "its the best event i have ever done" and have already had entries for next years event if we run it.

final results were

1st
team Dumb & Dumber (Biders & Hoon) 3h 09min (2:03day & 1:06night)

2nd
team Shake n Bake (me & Owen ward) 3h 53min (1:51day & 2:02night)
night stage we also had a 3rd member with Alan McMullen joining our team.

3rd
team Revn Offroad (Craig & Jed) 7h 03min (2:59day & 4:04night)
these boys really worked hard and was great to see them cross the line to finish.

we have to also mention the 4th finisher was Barry & cam. (team Road runner racing). Barrys wife Danielle was running the winch cable and did a fantastic job to get them through the day stage in 3h 55mins. unfortunatly Barrys Patrol had power steering issues and failed to finish the night stage.

Thanks to All the competitors and helpers.
Also a big thank you to Alan McMullen for allowing us to use his land.

pics soon.....
