the little ends are either 28 or 30mm (TD42T) - big ends are the same.
Cranks are different, larger flywheel boss on 42T.........

GQ's with TD42's up to 1993 had them (silver rocker covers) Had oil squirters for the pistons too. The later TD42t are basically the same engine as the early GQ TD42, which was derived from Nissans turbocharged UD truck, bus and forklift range. You should know all that anyway from the pootrol forum :D

When I stripped mine (1997 TD42 Blacktop from GQ coilcab) it had oil squirters and 30mm little ends. It now has gallery cooled, ceramic coated, machined crown turbo pistons and 150rwkw on 33's. As far as I know there's 28mm little ends on early silver tops. Later black tops (unsure what year they changed to 30mm) and TD42T blacktops have 30mm little ends. Thats the only difference in rods that I can think of. Both pretty bloody strong!
