ive heard that they dont have numbers stamped into the body...
is this true?????........ as im looking at putting another body on my chassis

Exactly .. particularly the use of the word "Illegal" to replace a cab and reuse the original compliance plate.RUFF wrote:Correct. Held on with pop rivets. Having done exactly this swap (in Qld), I can confirm, after spending many hours arguing with the Transport Dept staff and then having a long conversation with the Police Fraud squad, that the practice of changing compliance plates onto other shells is completely illegal.
In he end I had to hand over the original compliance plates and apply for a surrogate Vehicle Identification Number .
